This journey starts at the Tinniakh River mouth after the helicopter flight. Tourists meet 'Even' guides who await their arrival with horses and reindeer. Food, tents, sleeping bags and all necessary equipment is transported by horse and reindeer.
Accommodation is in tents and there is the service of a cook. A mobile electric generator is available on the trip. A helicopter brings rafting equipment to the Serechen River mouth for the start of this part of the journey.
Depending upon the numbers of tourists in a group there are between two and four rafts, the number of local guides on the walking/riding part of the trip - are five and one cook. During the rafting there are four guides and a cook. Worldwide communication is possible via the mobile phone network.
Tourists need to bring with them anti-mosquito repellent and we will supply protective head-gear. In the basin of the Kolyma River there are no ticks which cause encephalitis. The journey is through an unpopulated area. There are no industrial enterprises and no epidemics . The Rassokha River is a left tributary of the Yassachnaia River, which flows into the Kolyma River. The Rassokha River defrosts at the end of May and freezes in mid-October! There are glaciers in the basin of the river. Its slope commences at 2,73 m/km and finishes at 0,55 m/km at the River mouth, in the area between Bulkut and Yakshi it reaches 3,28 m/km.
The name of the River is Russian: "rassokha" means fork.
From the Serechen River mouth the main obstacles are rocky outcrops and shallow routes through the water. The water itself is rough. The Rassokha River flows through the highest area of the Chersky Mountain grange. The character of obstacles and the speed of flow depend upon the water level, which is variable according to rainfall.
In the mouth of the Bulkut River there is a huge glacier (the maximum thickness of which is 1,5 meters). After 10 km the Rassokha River enters a canyon where the water becomes very white, waves 1,5 meters for 15 km ( life-jackets necessary!) Down the Yaksha River mouth the Rassokha River flows into the Kolymsky valley where waters calm. The banks and islands are covered with larch and poplar, the lowland is a meadow of flowers.
On days 12 and 13 motor-rafting is necessary due to very slow river flow.
During the journey through the mountains one can see snow sheep's, brown bears, who are not dangerous at this time of year. In the lowland one can wolverene, moose, wild deer, many geese and ducks.
